Steven brings a refreshingly personal approach to the payment processing industry built on genuine relationships and doing what's right. As Co-Founder of CHIPP, he recognized that the payments industry had lost its way—focusing on corporate deals while small businesses were overlooked and overcharged. This drove him to co-found CHIPP with a simple mission: treat people right and take care of the businesses that serve their communities. Steven's philosophy is straightforward—every client deserves personal attention, honest communication, and someone who genuinely cares about their success. He's built CHIPP around the belief that business should be personal, which is why every client has his direct cell phone number and knows they can count on him to show up when needed.
Personal Life
Steven is a Marin County native, born and raised with his three siblings: Daniel, Lucas, and Samantha. His family's deep roots instilled in him genuine appreciation for local community and the businesses that make neighborhoods thrive. After high school, Steven enlisted in the Marine Corps, developing the discipline and integrity that define his business philosophy. Following military service, he spent time in San Francisco where he met Nahda, his amazing girlfriend who brings joy and balance to his life. Now back in Marin, Steven has channeled his local knowledge into building CHIPP from the ground up. His understanding of small business challenges comes from watching his community grow and change over the years.
Values & Motivation
Steven is motivated by a simple belief: small businesses deserve the same service and attention as big corporations. His blue-collar work ethic applied to payment processing has created a company culture built on accountability, transparency, and genuine care. Having spent years as a bartender in Marin, Steven knows the local business community—he's served the shop owners and entrepreneurs who make neighborhoods thrive. That experience taught him business is personal, and the best partnerships are built on trust and mutual respect. Steven believes when local businesses thrive, entire communities benefit—and that's worth fighting for.
Professional Background
Jason has spent his career immersed in both hands-on and high-level roles across industries including construction, B2C sales, customer service, restaurants, B2B technology, Human Capital Management, and most notably, point of sale and card processing. He’s thrived as an individual contributor by focusing not on selling products, but on building solutions tailored to the specific needs of each client. This problem-solving mindset led to exceptional success in the payments space, earning him two President’s Club awards and recognition as a top-performing rep for multiple consecutive years. Jason is especially passionate about Dual Pricing solutions and proudly embraces his role as an operational thinker, educator, and “software nerd” who serves as a true partner to the merchants he works with.
Personal Life
Originally from Northern California, Jason was recruited to play college football at Dakota State University in South Dakota. After graduating as an All-American athlete, a member of the Hampshire Honor Society, and a Campbell Trophy semifinalist, he and his wife Morgan spent time adventuring in Central Oregon before choosing to settle down in Spearfish, South Dakota. They've called the Black Hills home for five years now, where they’re raising their two children, Quinn and Callan. Family time is everything—from backyard baseball games to water park weekends—and Jason and Morgan share a love for food-driven travel, community involvement, and creating experiences that enrich both their own lives and those around them.

With a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration specializing in marketing and management, he's leveraged over seven years of marketing experience in the Reno area to build strong brand presence and develop growth strategies. As the former Marketing Manager for 10 Torr Brewing & Distilling, Tyrell spent five years navigating the competitive Reno market, developing both B2B and B2C sales capabilities that enable him to connect with diverse client bases and identify expansion opportunities. His approach combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, translating business goals into measurable results.

A Reno native with deep community roots, Tyrell's four-year collegiate football career at Dakota State University instilled in him the discipline, teamwork, and competitive drive that defines his approach to business. After graduating, he returned to his hometown where his commitment to community extends beyond professional work. For over five years, he's coached high school football in the Reno area, developing young athletes both on and off the field. This experience has strengthened his leadership skills and reinforced his belief in mentorship and community investment.
